What is Trichology?
Trichology relates to the study of Hair & Scalp, its various Disorders & Treatments.
Role of a Trichologist:
A qualified Trichologist deals with problems of the hair & scalp, Hairloss, Hereditary hairloss (Thinning), Alopecia areata, Dandruff, Excessive oiliness of the scalp, Dull & Lifeless hair, Psoriasis of the scalp, Dry & Itchy scalp, Seborrheic Dermatitis, Chemical damage, etc.
Consultation Procedure:
A Trichologist through Consultation, Studies the History of the client (such as area of hairloss, since when the client experiencing the hairloss, diet, lifestyle,etc) , Examines the scalp or Conducts a Microscopic examination of the scalp if required.
Treatment:
Based on the client's detail, a Trichologist then recommends a treatment which consists of either External applications or Nutritional therapy or both. Every individual is different and here at Tressez we value this fact, hence the treatment procedure are custom made to suit each individual needs.
 One needs to understand that hair goes through a cycle where each hair follicle had about 2 - 6 years of Growth phase (Anagen), 1 week - 1 month of Resting phase (Catagen) & finally 3 - 4 months of Falling phase (Telogen). Hence to see any change in the hair & scalp one needs to give it atleast a minimum of 3-6 months of treatment to see any difference.
There would be times when your Trichologist tells you that 'Sorry, Follicles are dead.' At this time no treatment would help. Here at Tressez, we do not give any false hopes and do not believe in misguiding our clients.
